“An absolutely beautiful, well laid out campground. Sites are well spaced with fire ring and picnic tables. We were there for opening weekend. As a camper, it didn’t feel like opening weekend, it was comfortable and friendly. We will be back and will stay longer than a weekend. Great job Black Dog Acres team!”

“What an amazing little campground! This weekend was their grand opening weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sites are a good size, fire pit and picnic table at each site. Plenty of “swing in/out” room. Pet friendly. Playground. Pavilion/Shelter to hang out. Pond for catch and release fishing…. They have so much planned moving forward to build this awesome little campground up!! Oh and really important…. It’s not on a busy highway…. Nights are nice and peaceful without all that traffic noise! Great location and super convenient to Pilot Mountain, King, Mayberry/Mt Airy, Hanging Rock etc. The owners are super nice folk. Definitely a must visit.”

“Ian and Meredith nailed it with this RV park. We had an absolute blast on opening weekend. I would recommend Black Dog Acres RV Park to anyone. Couple and family friendly. The sites are the largest I’ve seen anywhere and the atmosphere is great. Can’t wait to come back again and again to see this place grow!”

“We can’t say enough good things about Black Dog RV Park! This park is a gem. It is a family run business and they make you feel like one of their family from the minute you drive in. The sites are good size and equipped with fire ring and picnic table. The location is wonderful with lots to do from hiking to shopping. The best part is talking with the owners and having them share their knowledge about the area. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here - we guarantee that you will love it as much as we did!”

“Absolutely loved our stay here at Black Dog Acres. From beautiful, well manicured sites to the wonderfully amazing staff you cannot go wrong! Loved their offerings at their little store as well! So close to many vineyards and downtown Pilot mountain. Can’t wait to go back!”

“This was our first experience at Black Dog Acres RV Park, but it won't be our last. We stayed for 9 days for a yearly trip with family and we had a wonderful time from beginning to end and everything at the campground ran very smoothly.....from onsite trash pickup, onsite items if needed (wood, ice, etc.) in the store. The campground is very well maintained, it's family-friendly and dog-friendly with a beautiful view of Pilot Mountain. Ian and Meredith (the owners) live on site and were there when we needed them and we even got to visit with them a little when they weren't hard at work. The campground is conveniently located to restaurants and stores if needed. I can't wait to go back, it will definitely go on our rotation list!! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! :) They just opened earlier this year, book your site now, this hidden gem won't stay hidden for long!!”

“Although we weren’t able to camp for the inaugural weekend, we have now spent 2 weekends here & both were fabulous. This family-owned campground is nestled just below Pilot Mountain with the view. And golden hour is magnificent! They are located in the Stokes County Agricultural District & they do not disappoint with their involvement. They have a beekeeping station & laying hens for fresh eggs. Among the orchards on site, they also have an herb garden that is free to pick from, which includes tomatoes, basil, chives & more.
Their camp store has campground merchandise, as well as local vendor items. (Nothing like a small business supporting another small business!) The vendor items range from goats’ milk soaps, to handmade wallets & fresh beef from a local farm. Because the campground is so new, there isn’t a lot of shade midday. But they have planted trees to help with this. The sites are spaced well & very level. The small gravel in the sites is much easier to walk on, much nicer on the ground rugs & packs much better for leveling, chocking & stabilizing.
They have a pavilion, corn hole games & a playground for the kids. They also have some events planned, as well as food trucks for the weekends. The park is very dog friendly - hence the name. Tillie is a very sweet black dog. Lots of walking areas & trails that lead to the catch & release fishing pond. Lots of areas for your dogs to sniff & get worn out on a walk. The WiFi in the park has been great. We have not tried working remotely here, but did test out our smart tv & it worked well with no lags. We haven’t had any issues with our Wi-Fi on our phones while here. Would love to see this campground grow & be full on weekends. Ian & Meredith are very friendly, easy conversationalists, & extremely welcoming.”

“This was our first time winter camping at Black Dog Acres. We camped with 5 or 6 other families and our kids (and adults) had a blast as usual. We brought plenty of warm clothes and black dog has plenty of firewood for the fire pits to keep you warm. We brought a tv to connect to their wi-fi and all watched football and also the ball drop on new years at their big covered shelter. We spent 10 days here and were sad to go home! We got to go hike pilot mountain in nearby pilot mountain state park and some folks also went and hiked nearby Hanging Rock state park. We also finally got to go visit Mt. Airy about 20 min away and do all the Mayberry things. Lots to do around here and such a beautiful, peaceful area. You could not ask for kinder owners and staff and the campground is extremely clean too! Very excited for our trip back in March. We camped at Black Dog Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.”
